In December 2009, 10 students from the MA Design and BA Product Design programmes from Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore flew to Nepal to undertake a week-long ethnographic design trip. The focus was to put ethnographic and design research methods into field practice and to understand a foreign culture from a design point of view.

The Paper Spoon project aims to redesign the street vendor's paper spoon. The design outcome being a line of cost-effective, functional and sustainable discardable “street” cutlery.
